The Legislative Council has passed the abolition of using the accrued benefits of employers' mandatory contributions under the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) System to offset severance payment and long service payment in June 2022. The Government will implement the abolition no later than 2025 in tandem with the full implementation of the eMPF Platform of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority.
